However, the energy cells in the Death Star II can produce 48D per day without severely straining the energy reactors.) 15,000 Turreted Heavy Turbolasers Crew: 4 Gunners Scale: Starfighter Body: 4D Capital Scale Fire Control: 1D Space Range: 1-7/15/30 Space Units Damage: 7D 15,000 Turreted Turbolaser Batteries Crew: 3 Gunners Scale: Starfighter Body: 3D Capital Scale Fire Control: 1D Space Range: 1-5/10/15 Space Units Damage: 5D 7,500 Turreted Laser Cannons Crew: 3 Gunners Scale: Capital Body: 4D Capital Scale Fire Control 1D Space Range: 1-5/10/15 Space Units Damage 7D 5,000 Turreted Ion Cannons Crew: 4 Gunners Scale: Capital Body: 4D Capital Scale Fire Control: 1D Space Range: 1-3/7/10 Space Units Damage: 4D 768 Turreted Tractor Beam Emplacements Crew: 6 Gunners Scale: Capital Body 5D Capital Scale Fire Control: 3D Space Range: 1-5/10/25 Space Units Damage: 5D (Note that all of the Heavy Turbolasers, Turbolaser Batteries, Laser Cannons, Ion Cannons and Tractor Beam Emplacements are equally divided into 24 distinct zones due to the immense size of the Death Star II. Only weapons within the specific zone adjacent to an attacking ship can be brought to bear at any given time; often, the actual number of weapons that can be brought to bear is significantly lower.) |
Sensor Equipment : | SFS Txs-431 Flight Control Console (Used by hanger bay personnel to direct TIE fighter launches and handles docking and boarding duties). Console can normally access wide range of sensors such as: electro-photo, dedicated energy receptors and full spectrum transceivers to identify incoming vessels and scan for evidence of damage or charged shields and weapons and to determine how many life-forms are aboard. |
Sensor Jammers : | Hundreds of KDY 220-SIG Tactical Combat Jammers. Each jamming emplacement's directional dish allows for concentrated jamming along specific vectors, creating narrow zones of interference while leaving most of the Death Star II's sensor arrays clear to gather data. |
Sensors : | Passive : 350 Space Units/1D
Scan : 1,500 Space Units/2D Search : 7,500 Space Units/3D Focus : 60 Space Units/4D+2 |

The Death Star II is great improvement over its predecessor. This more sophisticated design has eliminated several flaws that doomed the first Death Star. The vulnerable exhaust ports were replaced with millimetre wide heat dispersion ducts, thereby leaving no weak spots in this battle station's armour. These ducts served the same way as the first Death Star's exhaust ports, they carry excess heat from the reactor core to the station's surface for dispersion. These ducts are so small, they can't be even hit by the most accurate blaster shot. Even if they were hit, the ducts were equipped with emergency baffles, designed to muffle any high pulse of energy before it reached the reactor core. After the destruction of the first Death Star, Bevel Lemelisk went into hiding fearing the Emperor's wrath. Imperial Intelligence Agents were able to tract him down to his remote retreat on Hefi. When brought before the Emperor, he was quite surprised to learn that the Emperor wanted him to design a more powerful Death Star, this time without even the most minute design flaw.
Perhaps the most heavily armoured and shielded portion of the Death Star was the 100 story tower topped with the Emperor's private observation chamber which the Emperor could oversee all Death Star II operations. The tower was located on the north pole of the station. The main weapon of the Death Star, the Superlaser was also greatly improved. Its targeting and power control systems were refined so that this weapon can be turned against capital ships. The Superlaser could now be focused more finely and quickly, and also its rate of fire was immensely improved and it could be used against capital ships. To power all of these new and powerful systems, Lemelisk had to increase the overall size of this Death Star to accommodate the larger power generators needed to power the station.
To repel a starfighter attack the number of anti-starfighter weapons was heavily increased, creating a nearly impenetrable blanket of anti-starship fire. Added to the already amazing complement of TIE fighters, this new Death Star would be invincible; the only way to destroy this station was to destroy it while it was still under construction. The intense power generated within the battle station, combined with its great mass, gave it both magnetic and artificial gravitational fields equal to those of a natural body many times its size, there by acting like a massive gravity well.
Moff Jerjerrod was officially
named the Director of Imperial Energy Systems, a new sub department of
the Imperial Ministry of Energy. However, in all reality he was overseeing
the construction of the second Death Star. With the added incentive from
Lord Darth Vader, Moff Jerjerrod got the battle station operational a good
deal ahead of schedule. It began construction some time after the Battle
of Hoth. The Death Star II was protected by a CoMar SLD-26 Planetary Shield
Generator and the station was part of the Emperor's plan to help destroy
the Rebel's trapped fleet at the Battle of Endor. Unfortunately, this half
completed Death Star was destroyed taking with it the Emperor and many
other fine Imperial personnel.
